Mackay waste to energy (MWE) systems

Treating Metropolitan Solid Waste and using the Refuse Derived Fiber to produce Renewable Electricity.

  • Advanced Technology to treat waste and produce power.
  • MSW is converted in combustible pellets, ferrous and non ferrous metals, glass and grit fines.
  • These products may be sold.
  • Each plant has the capacity to process 300 tons of MSW per day.
  • The combustible pellets produces 8 MW.
  • It is self sustaining

IFGT Turbine

M G E takes an existing / proven gas turbine running on expensive fossil fuels like natural gas, or kerosene and converts using its proprietary combustion and heat exchanger systems. Key feature of the technology are:

  • The system runs on low cost renewable fuels.
  • No gasification of biomass necessary
  • No high temperature filtration
  • Minimal fuel preparation – fuel only milled down to <10mm
  • High ash content fuel (poses no problem (up to 30%)
  • Only clean air passes through the turbine engine (no erosion giving 15+ year life)
  • Ash in discharged as molten slag (inert and vitrified , perfect for waste disposal)
  • 99% + complete combustion (immeasurable remaining combustibles)
  • Flame temps of 1200 C- 1800 C (tuneable) achieved for noxious materials destruction

Mackay Group (MKG)

Mackay Group (MKG) is a private corporation, founded and headed by Chairman James Ronaldson Mackay for the creation, pursuit, acquisition and development of diverse and significant opportunities in the Philippines and all over the world.

One of MKG's primary objectives is the promotion of its Third Generation Technologies for Renewable Energy, comprised of the Indirectly Fired Gas Turbine (IFGT) and the Metropolitan Solid Waste Management. Both systems are created to produce an alternative source of clean and sustainable energy, while helping preserve our natural resources.

MKG has developed a propriety method of converting proven gas turbine engines into an indirectly fired form allowing the utilization of low cost fuels such as biomass, and fuel produced from waste and garbage while increasing turbine life and dramatically lowering emission.

MKG is also engaged in acquiring new and innovative technologies across national borders and multiple industries, including Real Estate and Development, Smartcards, Biotechnology, Third Generation Technologies of Renewable Energy and Healthcare.
